Research Experience
The primary focus of my research has related to eye movements involving various web stimuli and conditions, usability related issues, and other selected HCI topics. The bulk of my research has been conducted in the Software Usability Research Laboratory at Wichita State University under the supervision of Dr. Barbara Chaparro. Many studies conducted in SURL have resulted in publications, speaking engagements, and conference proceedings. Additionally, I have been part of research studies conducted by SURL on behalf of Footsmart, Dell, Inc. Textron, Inc., and Wichita State University.
Since Fall 2008, I have been a research methods lab instructor. One of the primary roles of this instructor position is to oversee several sections of the research projects of students in class. A typical research methods project consists of a proposal, project planning, IRB submission, data collection, data analysis, and interpretation. Beginning in Spring 2010, I will take the role of lecturer for research methods in addition to being a lab instructor.
